I Love TV Themes

Yesterday we discussed Dawson’s Creek’s show-within-a-show The Creek, which was sadly lacking in an opening credits sequence. LUCKILY some people know how to do it right. On Ricky Gervais’ Extras (a show that itself lacked an opening sequence), when his character, Andy Millman creates a sitcom, “When The Whistle Blows,” that show gets an opening sequence. It may in fact be a commentary on sitcoms and opening sequences, as When The Whistle Blows was presented as a terrible sitcom (you can see it above), but this song is pretty good, and works as the theme song for a show about realizing that your dreams are probably never going to come true - a theme of both of Gervais’ series.
